Following notice from our current Treasurer of his intention to step down, the Society is seeking to appoint a new Treasurer in the near future. The role does not require an accounting qualification, but experience of bookkeeping, financial concepts and payment methods (including PayPal and Direct Debits) would be preferable, and spread sheeting skills will be helpful.
The role of the Treasurer, who will also be appointed as one of the OMRS Trustees, entails:
- Administering the payment systems and bank accounts used by the OMRS
- Management of the Society’s day-to-day income and expenditure
- Preparation of annual accounts for filing with The Charities Commission, and liaison with the Independent Examiner
- Supporting the Membership Secretary through the membership renewal cycle
- Participating as a Trustee in the activities and decisions of the Executive Committee
Support for the new Treasurer as they acclimatise to the role will be provided by the incumbent, and the President and Trustees.
